Physics of Meaning (members of polyphonic spree)

In the broadest sense, The Physics of Meaning is an album about space and time travel. More specifically, it is an exploration of and struggle with memory and desire; it is an investigation into the heart of human reality, truth and purpose. Spanning eleven tracks and forty-seven minutes, these songs follow a determined protagonist from childhood to adulthood and back, through journeys geographical, emotional and existential. From humble beginnings (small towns and invisible people) to the big city (Manhattan is an island) and beyond (a slowly tilting planet), our narrator stays focused on two questions: what does it mean to be alive, and how can we reconcile our past selves with who we are now? The Physics of Meaning supposes that an examination of our relationship to all the places we've been (both physical and metaphysical) will reveal the answers to these questions.

SHEkeepsBees

Jessica Larrabee, 25 years old, born in Washington DC, and living in New York is the artist of She Keeps Bees. With work noted for its distinct emotional rawness, her music, a form of melodic dark country, speaks with an intimate voice. Slow and atmospheric, her songs bend their way through a moody waltz. Sometimes accompanied by Wurlizter, cello, and drums, Jessica plays an Antigua Hardtail Fender Stratocaster. She plays professionally, performs, and produces her own work, all original songs. Jessica is the voice of Jessica Elle on the massive dance track, "The Thrill of Love", which is available in the U.S. and U.K. on More Records NYC and Superfreq U.K. respectively. Jessica was also the vocalist and guitarist of The English System, named one of the top 20 bands of Philadelphia in 2002.

9:30 pm G-Spot Tornado
G-Spot Tornado is a unique and original blend of music. They create a live show that brings the smack down of total chaotic grooves with electrifying melodies, delivering the band's signature, “Hi-Octane” funkiness.

10:30 pm The Square Egg
What's not to love about a 10-piece band who can deliver a rap smoother than their pate, celebrating the virtues of womanhood while slinking low on the down beat in just the way your mama warned you about? All that jazz-funk-hip-hop-blues-soul spooned together promiscuous-like, feeling up your backside, lapping at your ears and making your body move.

Midnite Kontrast
"Infusing serious topics such as social inequality and the comedy of everyday life into their work, their differences in character and creativity combine in a way that is far from dissonant. The result is a sound that is not merely aurally pleasing with booty bumping beats; Kontrast can be hysterically ironical and yet intellectually sexy in the same breath." - maARTe Magazine

11pm The Water
