Study on Cialis shows significant improvements
On the 12th of October 2011, Eli Lilly and Company made public the announcement regarding the pivotal study of Cialis Phase III which led to significant improvements regarding the effectiveness of this ED solution. The main objective of Cialis tablets of 5 mg is successfully fulfilled: it improves the ED condition as well the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia. This study was also included and approved by the FDA (US Food and Drug Administration). In this way, Cialis is now approved for improving both conditions mentioned above.
The study on Cialis was started from last year and it managed to demonstrate efficiency. Eli Lilly and Company is committed to research that will eventually help treat these conditions that affect millions of men at worldwide level.
The Cialis Phase III was performed on the grounds of Cialis 2.5mg or Cialis 5mg used as a daily treatment for erectile dysfunction problems and BPH symptoms. The study was conducted in 54 urology centres in a set of 9 countries on a sample of 606 men having an age around 45 years old, all of them suffering from ED and BPH. The study was placebo controlled and all patients were given either Cialis 2.5mg or Cialis 5mg over a period of 12 weeks.
The results showed significant results by using Cialis 5mg. In order to assess the qualitative effectiveness of this product there were used the following questionnaires: International Index of Erectile Function-Erectile Function Domain (to evaluate the level of ED), the International Prostate Symptom Score (to evaluate the urinary tract symptoms), the Sexual Encounter Profile (to evaluate the possible changes in sexual performance during treatment) and the BPH Impact Index (to evaluate the impact of urinary tract problems).
In terms of Cialis, men have the possibility to choose between Cialis 2.5 mg and Cialis 5mg for a daily usage. This is an FDA approved solution, like Levitra and Viagra. But due to this study, Cialis does not only treat ED but also BPH symptoms. In addition, based on this study Cialis definitely gained a competitive advantage and the demand for this product is expected to increase.
